Thrilled to partner with Gamine Workwear on a year-long seasonal dye project, translating the fingerprint of our East Coast seasons via the bundle dyeing technique to create one of a kind handkerchiefs.

The first winter series explored the melancholy and quiet poetry of the season via barberry dye, saved birch & maple leaves, morning glories, metal bits (washers, colonial nails, and brass rings) all sourced on from our land and farm.

Brece Honeycutt’s series, b(RE)ce, is made from selected repurposed garments (shirts, sweaters, blazers, trousers & dresses) dyed naturally from plants gathered from the land around her studio in Western Massachusetts. On summer mornings, she collects morning glories, rose leaves and coreopsis, for example, and in the fall she harvests fallen leaves and barberry, and dries goldenrod and zinnias for winter use in her dyeing. The colors and patterns imprinted on her garments were once found on the forest floor or on the stalks of plants. Each b(RE)ce garment is a unique, naturally dyed work.

“Recently I visited the studio of Brece Honeycutt, a visual artist whose work draws inspiration from nature and history.  As an undergraduate at Skidmore College, Brece majored in art history and eventually pursued a graduate degree at Columbia University in studio art focusing on sculpture. Since then her artistic output has evolved beyond one medium and now encompases painting, drawing, book making and a unique vintage-couture line.  Often combining elements from a range of genres, Brece’s work results in delicately elaborate installations. Entering her studio bespeaks of experiencing such installations.”
